Channel Information

Once logged into the Spectrum portal, the user will have access to a number of "channels".  Each channel is a rectagular area containing information, navigation links, and/or tools from various sources.

A channel titled "Spectrum Channel Information" is located in the leftmost column of the every portal user's "Home" tab (below the Group and Campus Announcement channels).  This channel is updated frequently to provide notices of some newly available Spectrum channels, and a few "Future Channels" that should be available very soon.   There are also two useful links at the bottom of this channel.  The "More channel info" link will open up a new browser window with a listing of all currently available channels.  Some channels will only be available to individuals in certain U of M roles (student, employee, faculty, etc.)

The second useful link at the bottom of the "Spectrum Channel Information" channel is "Make suggestion/comment".  After logging in to the portal, users can recommend new channels, channel improvements or modifications, or make general comments about the portal.
