Project Organization - Portal Team

The Portal Team is primarily comprised of members of the University's distributed web development (WebDev) staff and will be led by the University's Web Administrator.

This group will have primary responsibility for implementation of the web portal that will serve as the single sign-on gateway to the ERP and other web-based University services. The Portal Team will be responsible for the development of University specific web portal channels and the implementation of a web content management system (CMS) for the creation and maintenance of University web pages. The Portal Team members will work with the other modular teams to integrate the full range of web-based systems/services into the University portal infrastructure.

The Portal Team members will focus on the design and function of the University portal. Design work will determine portal layout, navigation, interface style, menus, and on-line help. Functional work will include identifying portal content and defining information access requirements. This group will coordinate the identification, adoption, expansion, and channel customization of portal constituent groups (e.g. faculty, staff, students, prospective students, alumni, parents/guardians, donors/friends of the University).
